Settling into the Culture

EVS is something that everybody should experience. It’s a great opportunity to improve yourself, discover new skills, enrich your knowledge, learn to deal with new difficulties, and also experience the feeling that you make a difference, not only in yourself but also in the environment you’re given to volunteer in.
It’s been two months since I started EVS in Macedonia. When I got the opportunity to go for a long-term project in Bitola, my decision was clear in one second: “Of course, I’m going.” Since my first days with SFERA, I already knew that it was going to be a project full of experience and great moments. I’m never bored here; the time, which is running fast because of the great company and atmosphere, is filled with many interesting activities.
SFERA had already been working with two other volunteers from Turkey before I began my project. Very soon, we started common school activities, telling about our home countries and showing the differences and similarities between Poland, Turkey, and Macedonia. It’s great fun, and at the same time, I am breaking some kind of barrier as I have never worked with kids.
Due to my project being a long-term one, I’m not even at the halfway point of it. However, I already gained a lot, and I can’t wait to see what the next few months will bring. See you soon!?
