Music Club
It was a good experience for me because I went abroad for the first time. The hospitality of the people in Bitola made me feel at home, and I appreciated that. I wanted to improve my English language, and thanks to this project, I did. I thank Sfera for this opportunity. I had a workshop about knitting. Among the participants in the workshops was a high school design teacher. Although she is a professional in her job, she did not know how to knit, so I taught her. I felt like a professional at that time. I am not going to forget this experience. I hope we will meet again.
Mehtab: On September 22/2023, I went to North Macedonia from Turkey to work as a volunteer in Sfera. Sfera employees welcomed me and took me to my apartment, where I would stay for a month and work as a volunteer. On the first day, they introduced Bitola to me and my other volunteer friends, showed me the location of the office where we would do our work, and explained the general operation. There were other volunteers from different countries, and, apart from those working in Sfera, there were young volunteers from North Macedonia. We organised many events covering topics such as environmental pollution and nature protection, children's development and socialisation, social cohesion, cultural interaction, and social activity. Each volunteer and Sfera employee worked very hard to ensure that our events were carried out in accordance with their purpose
We designed jewellery for children in the park and collected garbage in certain areas in Bitola; we shopped for food for social aid and delivered it; we organised a big event where many children could come together and have fun and at the same time draw and scribble their own imaginations. We had this and many similar activities. In my spare time as a volunteer, I mixed in with the local people and tried to understand their cultural life. Local young people quickly took me in, and we started drinking coffee and chatting outside. I spent all my free time socialising with Macedonian young people. It was an incredible experience for me. It was very nice to meet the Macedonian people. I send my love to Sfera and all the beautiful people I met in Macedonia.
