SFERA members participated in “Through the lens of reality” in Sinaia, Romania
In the period of 12th to 18th August, SFERA International members were a part of the Erasmus+ youth exchange “Through the lens of reality” in Sinaia, Romania. The Macedonian team consisting of four participants (Dobrinka Sotirova, Veda Mihajlovik Narashanova, Temjana Angjusheva, and Venesa Velickovska) plus one team leader (Milena Gligorova) worked on journalistic stories, recorded videos, and footages, edited them in a given form of media, and afterward presented the materials. The focus of the journalistic work was Romania and relevant issues concerning politics, economy, sports, healthcare, and culture. It had the goal to show the opportunities journalists have to manipulate the story for their benefit and recognize real and fake stories. The team arrived home rich with new knowledge and a wonderful experience.
Main objectives
- Empowering participants with a set of skills to analyse and validate the information they receive from third parties or encounter online and form opinions based on critical thinking (consistency of information, evaluate existing evidence, cross-check information, question basic assumptions/misconceptions, fact checking websites etc.), on the duration of the mobility.
- Increasing the skills of the youth participants in expressing themselves in writing and speaking, during the 10 days of the mobility.
The aim
It aims to teach participants to question and analyse online information, learn to choose their sources, form fact-based opinions and become responsible with the content they share online.
