FISHBOWL DISCUSSION – HATE SPEECH AND FAKE NEWS – PRO DIALOGUE

On May 28th, SFERA International held a fishbowl discussion in Bitola’s city park about hate speech and fake news.

This local event was part of the project “PRO DIALOGUE” – Fight against hate speech and fake news through citizens’ intercultural dialogue. This discussion aimed to hear the opinions, personal experiences, and ideas of young people about fake news and hate speech in our country.

Part of this event were the moderator, Diogen Hadzi Kosta Milevski, and 10 active participants and observers.

The moderator of this discussion, Diogen Hadzi Kosta Milevski, introduced the participants to the terms and notions of “hate speech” and “fake news.” Afterward, the participants shared their points of view and experiences with hate speech and fake news in our society and discussed how to recognize it, protect against it, and most importantly, reduce the spread of hate speech and fake news. Besides the participants, the observers could also join the debate and express their opinions.
